Aleksandr Khramouchin, winner of numerous international competitions and finalist at the XIIth International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (2002), is a renowned cellist who combines playing of great depth with astounding virtuosity and mastery of his instrument. He appears in concerts and makes solo recordings for radio and television in USA, Canada, Japan, China, Russia and throughout Europe. He plays as a soloist with conductors such as Emmanuel Krivine, Rudolf Werthen, Dirk Brossé, Patrick Davin, Lev Markiz, Valery Poliansky and Bramwell Tovey. He was a member of the Aviv Quartet from 2010 to 2015.

As a soloist and in chamber music, Aleksandr Khramouchin performs in concert halls such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Salle Gaveau in Paris, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, the Cologne Philharmonie, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Wigmore Hall in London and the Tchaikovsky hall in Moscow. His close partnership with “Timpani Records”, among other companies, has led to several recordings, including the complete chamber music of Gabriel Pierné with pianist Christian Ivaldi, the first recording of Jean Cras’cello sonata with pianist Alain Jacquon and Maurice Ohana’s cello works with pianist Pascal Devoyon. All his recordings have received numerous awards and continue to be highly acclaimed in the international press.

Born 1979 in Minsk (Belarus) into a family with deep musical traditions, Aleksandr Khramouchin received his first cello lessons at the age of 4 from his father, a brilliant violinist, who also continued to guide Aleksandr in his understanding of musical language and in developing his own musical style during the following years.

Alongside his performing activities, Aleksandr Khramouchin is permanently giving Masterclasses in the most important institutions and has occupied Professor position at the International Mundi School in Waterloo (Belgium) until 2021.

In 1985, he entered the class of Vladimir Perlin at the “Special Music School for advanced students” at the Conservatory of Music in Minsk. After coming to Belgium in 1992, he continued his studies with Professor Hans Mannes at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. Encounters with Janos Starker, Natalia Schakhovskaya, Boris Pergamenschikow and others marked his musical apprenticeship. At the age of 19, he became First Solo Cellist at the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, where he played until 2019. Music critics are unanimous in praising Khramouchin’s unforgettable, highly individual performing style, the broad scope of his interpretations, and his faultless technical mastery.

Aleksandr Khramouchin, 1er Prix de nombreux concours internationaux et finaliste au XIIème Concours International Tchaikovsky à Moscou, allie à la grande profondeur de son jeu une brillance et une virtuosité époustouflantes. Ses concerts ont été retransmis à la radio et à la télévision aux Etats-Unis, au Canada, au Japon, en Chine, en Russie et dans toute l’Europe. Aleksandr Khramouchin s’est produit en musique de chambre aux côtés de musiciens comme Emmanuel Ax, Christian Ivaldi, Pascal Devoyon, Eliane Reyes, Vladimir Sverdlov, Polina Leshenko, Peter Laul, Denis Goldfeld, Graf Mourja, Alexandra Soumm, Jack Liebeck, et bien d’autres. Il est membre du Quatuor Aviv de 2010 à 2015.

Aleksandr Khramouchin a joué dans les salles les plus prestigieuses, telles que le Concertgebouw d’Amsterdam, la Salle Gaveau à Paris, l’Alte Oper à Francfort, la Philharmonie de Cologne, le Konzerthaus de Berlin, le Wigmore Hall à Londres ou encore le Tchaikovsky Concert Hall à Moscou. Son étroite collaboration avec le label « Timpani records », entre autres, a abouti à plusieurs CDs, notamment l’intégrale de la musique de chambre de Gabriel Pierné avec le pianiste Christian Ivaldi, le premier enregistrement de la sonate de Jean Cras avec le pianiste Alain Jacquon, les œuvres pour violoncelle de Maurice Ohana avec le pianiste Pascal Devoyon. Ses disques ont reçu de nombreuses récompenses et ont été unanimement salués par la critique.

Né en 1979 à Minsk (Biélorussie) dans une famille de longue tradition musicale, Aleksandr Khramouchin a reçu sa première leçon de violoncelle de son père, brillant violoniste, qui a continué à le guider dans son développement musical pendant plusieurs années.

Parallèlement à ses activités d’interprète, Aleksandr Khramouchin donne en permanence des Masterclasses dans les institutions les plus importantes et a occupé le poste de professeur à l’International Mundi School de Waterloo (Belgique) jusqu’en 2021.

En 1985, il intègre la classe de Vladimir Perlin à “l’Ecole Spéciale pour étudiants avancés” au Conservatoire de Minsk. Installé en Belgique en 1992, il poursuit ses études avec Hans Mannes au Conservatoire Royal d’Anvers. Les masterclasses avec des musiciens prestigieux tels que Janos Starker, Natalia Schakhovskaya, ou encore Boris Pergamenschikow, ont également marqué son apprentissage. À l’âge de 19 ans, il obtient le poste de Premier Violoncelle Solo de l’Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, au sein duquel il se produira jusqu’en 2019. Les critiques n’ont cessé de saluer le jeu inoubliable et profondément personnel d’Aleksandr Khramouchin, sa musicalité, son répertoire très éclectique et sa perfection technique.
