The German pianist Tobias Schabenberger has a rich career as soloist, chamber musician and teacher since his youth. He completed his studies in Stuttgart (Germany) and Bern (Switzerland) and was Assistant to Bruno Canino for several years. He received further support from Pianists like György Sebök, Pier Narciso Masi and Edith Picht Axenfeld.
Already at 16 years he started to teach piano in the music-college in Calw.
After teaching ten years at the „Hochschule der Künste Bern“ he took a teaching position in 2003 as a professor of piano, fortepiano and chamber music at the “Hochschule für Musik (FHNW) der Musik Akademie Basel”. As Dean of the Department „Performance“ he helped develop this internationally renowned Institute for more than ten years.
Tobias Schabenberger is regularly giving Masterclasses in Europe (Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Germany).
He recorded for Swiss and German Radio- and television Broadcasts. Tobias Schabenberger is open for music-related projects in a wider sense and was e.g. invited as „Cultural Leader of Switzerland“ for lectures and performances to the „World Economic Forum“ in Davos. He also played concerts with Daniel Sepec and the Violin of L.v. Beethoven in the Barbican Centre in London and he gave lectures together with Arabian Callygraph Ismat Amiralai.
He performed with great musicians like Thomas Demenga, Leila Schayegh, Chiara Banchini, Daniel Sepec, Kurt Widmer, Hansheinz Schneeberger, Pierre-André Taillard, Marcus Weiss or Thomas Müller.
