He was born in Madrid. He studied music at the Madrid Royal Music Conservatory, obtaining the Advanced Degrees in Clarinet and Chamber Music, with Awards and Honorary Registrations in both specialties. Among the people who contributed to his musical formation, he shows special thanks to the masters V. Sausor, M. Muñoz and V. Peñarrocha (clarinet), P. Zazpe (solfeo and theory of music), J. Villa Rojo (harmony) and L. Rego (chamber music).

He has completed several further training courses with J. Tomas, W. Boeykens, A. Pay, C. Myerscough, J.L. Estellés… but it is with the English teacher A. Pay that he studied regularly from 1992 to 1996. He was awarded a scholarship by the Madrid Region for postgraduate studies at the Academia Internazionale di Musica “Lorenzo Perosi” in Biella (Italy.)

He has been a member of various Chamber groups. He was a founding member of the Young Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Madrid (as principal clarinet). Among other training, he has played as a solist with the Symphony Orchestra of Madrid, the Symphony Orchestra of Castilla y León, the Spanish Symphonic Radio and Television Orchestra, the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra (Vietnam), the Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Pereira (Colombia).

He has recorded three albums with the contemporary music group “Cosmos” (EMEC record company, and SEVERAL RECORDS company), an album with the trio “Desde el Sur de Europa” (SONY FOLK record company). He has also collaborated with the group “Xeque Mate” in the recording of “Alen da Lenda”, (RESISTENCIA récord company), with the GCMUS of the University of Santiago for (GCMUS record company). Pedro Garbajosa has also recorded two albums with the Areteia Quartet: “Música para Camus”, by S. Mariné and “Acrílico y Oleo sobre papel”, by A. Moreno (VERSO record company).
He has recorded many concerts for the RNE (Spanish National Radio), CANAL + , RAI, Radio France, and NHK (Radio and Television of Japan).

His concert activity has taken him to the main theatres and auditoriums in Spain, to stages in France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Hungary, Austria, Egypt, Japan, Vietnam, Colombia and Morocco.

His international academic activity has been developed at the Cervantes Institute in Cairo, the Cervantes Institute in Alexandria, the Tartini Conservatory in Trieste, the Jacopo Tomadini Conservatory in Udine, the National Academy of Music in Vietnam, the School of Cultural Education in Pereira (Colombia), the Höchschulle für Musik Nuremberg and the Oporto Higher School of Music (ESMAE), the National Liszt Academy in Budapest and the University of Music and Dramatic Art in Vienna.

His commitment to contemporary Spanish music has led him to release works and work with prestigious composers: Antón Ga Abril, Tomás Marco, Jesús Villa Rojo, Pedro Iturralde, Salvador Brotons, Llorenç Barber, Ernest Martínez Izquierdo, Manuel Martínez Burgos, José Luis Turina, Enrique Igoa, Sebastián Mariné, Zulema de la Cruz, Manuel Ángulo, Flores Chaviano, Andrés Valero Castells, Pedro Zazpe, Tomás Bohórquez, Fernando Palacios, Mario Carro, Alejandro Román, Santiago Lanchares, Cruz López de Rego, Markus Breuss, Bernardino Ceratto, Stefano Procaccioli, Christoph Reuter, among the most prominent.

Among his next projects are the recording of two CD albums with music by Tomás Bohórquez and Pedro Zazpe, several concerts tribute to composer Pedro Zazpe in Caracas, Maracaibo and Carora (Venezuela) as well as the teaching master classes at the Conservatory of Music of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and the University of Zagreb (Croatia), offering Spanish music recitals in all these centres. Also, he will each master class of clarinet and workshops of Yogaterapia for musicians in several Spanish conservatories.
For the next three years, he is scheduled to perform the Concerts for two clarinets and orchestra by the Czech composer F. Krommer (op 35 and op 91) with several professional orchestras, together Joaquín Haro (solo clarinet of the Symphony Orchestra of Córdoba).

This summer he has been invited as a clarinet teacher to l’Académie de Musique d’été 2025 (MUSICALTA) in Alsace (France) and to the San Marino International Summer Music Cours.

Since 1997 he has also devoted himself to the study and teaching of Yoga, especially applied to the performing arts. Disciple of Sri Madhavacharia Yogui Dhasa, from whom he obtained the degree of Maha Yoga Siromani (superior teacher of Yoga). Pedro Garbajosa is also a graduate in Vedic Medicine and Bioespinology. He belongs to the Sanatana Dharma Association.

In 2014 he completed a master’s degree at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, presenting a T.F.M. entitled “YOGATHERAPY FOR MUSICIANS: Towards a new awareness developing to express what we are”.

Currently he is developing is concert activity as a member of the Dharma trio, of the Areteia quartet (resident group of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid Wind Quintet. He is professor of clarinet and Yoga teacher for musicians at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid.

For 21 years he has been teaching as a professor of clarinet and teacher of Yogaterapia for musicians at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, where he teaches the Degree of Performance in Clarinet and the Master’s Degree in New Technologies of current music.

Pedro Garbajosa is SELMER artist and currently plays with Muse Evolution model clarinets. He is also ambassador in Spain of González Reeds, a brand with which he collaborates in research to develop his products.
