The pianist Kathrin Isabelle Klein is known for her outstanding versability. She could prove her affinity to modern and contemporary music e.g. as laureate of the Concours international de piano d’Orléans, but she also feels at home in any other musical epoch.

She often appears on stage as soloist, chamber musician an Lied pianist in very different ensembles and was invited to several German festivals such as the Mosel Musikfestival, Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker, Mozartfest Würzburg and Festival Acht Brücken Cologne.

With soprano Monika Abel she successfully participated in the finals of the German Music Competition 2022 and was selected for the scholarship of the Konzertförderung Deutscher Musikwettbewerb, season 2023/24. The duo’s first CD featuring songs by Messiaen, Webern, Finzi and Strauss will be published by the label Hänssler Classic in February 2025.

Next to solo- and chamber music she also passionately plays in orchestras and ensembles. Kathrin Isabelle Klein was pianist in the German Youth Orchestra, academist of the Lucerne Festival Academy and member of the International Ensemble Modern Academy Frankfurt (2020/21). She regularly plays in orchestras such as the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and the BR Symphony Orchestra.

Kathrin Isabelle Klein studied piano in Würzburg and Munich with Prof. Markus Bellheim. From 2021 to 2024 she was part of the solo class in Hannover with Prof. Ewa Kupiec, obtaining her “Konzertexamen” in July 2024.

Kathrin Isabelle Klein now holds a permanent post as piano lecturer at the Musikhochschule Munich since 2022.
