Born in Satu-Mare (Romania) in 1987, Edouard Sabo began learning music at the age of seven.
In 2002, he won a first prize for flute and chamber music unanimously at the at Paris National Conservatory (CRR) and continued his studies with Pascale Feuvrier and Philippe Pierlot at Rueil-Malmaison National Conservatory (CRR). In 2003, Edouard joined the flute class of Sophie Cherrier and Vincent Lucas at Paris Superior National Conservatory – CNSMDP. He also studied Piccolo with Pierre Dumail and chamber music with Michel Moraguès, Davis Walter and Jens Mcmanama. In 2007, he won first prize unanimously and in 2009 the first prize unanimously with the congratulations of the chamber music jury at Paris Superior Conservatory (CNSMDP).
Edouard performs regularly in chamber music ensembles at prestigious festivals such as the Deauville Festival, the Roque d’Anthéron Festival, the Radio France Festival, the Cordes sur Ciel Festival and the Festival. from Aix en Provence. He also participates in concerts, recordings and tours of many French and foreign orchestras such as the Orchester de l’Opera National de Paris, the Orchester de Paris, the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchester National de France, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Paris Chamber Orchestra and the Ensemble Intercontemporain. In these orchestras, he has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls such as The Philharmonie of Paris, The Opera Bastille and the Opera Garnier, the Auditorium of Radio France, Luxembourg Philharmonie, Berlin Philharmonie, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Vienna Musikverein, Tokyo Suntory Concert Hall, and Beijing Concert Hall under the baton of conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Christophe Eschenbach, David Zinman, Philippe Jordan and Paavo Järvi, Tugan Sokhiev, Andris Nelsons, Emmanuel Krivine, Daniele Gatti, Gustavo Dudamel, Gustavo Gimeno, Myung-Whun Chung among others.
Edouard has recorded several records with the Ensemble Initium under the label Timpani and Indésens with notably the wind chamber music by George Onslow, Jacques Ibert, Andre Caplet, Thierry Escaich and Karol Beffa.
Edouard Sabo is currently solo piccolo at the Republican Guard Orchestra, member of the Ensemble Initium, professor of piccolo at the National Conservatoire (CRR) de Rueil-Malmaison and chamber music professor at the Conservatoire d’Antony.
