Amandine Carbuccia has been principal harpist of the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra since 2015.
She made an early name for herself in international competitions, winning the Lily Laskine Competition in 2014 and the International Dutch Harp Competition in 2012 (1st prize, audience prize and young talent prize).
A passionate orchestral performer, she is called upon to collaborate with prestigious orchestras such as the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester, the Orchestre de l’Opéra national de Paris, the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Lyon, the Münchner Philharmoniker, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg, the Staatsoper Hannover and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, under conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Gustavo Dudamel, Zubin Mehta, Christoph Eschenbach, Jonathan Nott, Peter Eötvos and Daniel Harding. These collaborations have led her to give concerts in some of the world’s greatest concert halls, including the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna’s Musikverein and New York’s Carnegie Hall.
As a soloist, she has been invited to perform with various ensembles, including the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, the Bremer Philharmoniker, the Philharmonisches Orchester Gießen, the Orchestre Lamoureux, the Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht and the Kammerphilharmonie Dacapo München. France Musique, Radio Bremen and the Dutch radio station NPO 4 have all broadcast programmes about her.
Alongside her concert activity, Amandine Carbuccia devotes a great deal of her time to teaching. In particular, she is a mentor in several youth orchestras (Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, Niedersächsisches Jugendsinfonieorchester), where she teaches and supports young musicians. She has been invited as a jury member at numerous competitions and regularly gives master classes in France and Germany.
Born in Nice in 1990, Amandine Carbuccia began playing the harp at the Nice Conservatoire in the class of Michelle Vuillaume, who taught her from an early age and introduced her to the richness of the instrument. She then went on to study at the CNSMD in Lyon in Fabrice Pierre, Sylvain Blassel and Park Stickney’s class, before perfecting her skills at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main in Françoise Verherve’s class, where she obtained a soloist’s ‘Konzertexamen’ diploma.
