Christin Blumenstein was born in Leipzig, Germany.
From an early age, she took violin lessons to later attend Musikgymnasium Schloss Belvedere Weimar as a student of Prof. Andreas Lehmann from 1998 to 2001.
From 2001 to 2006, she studied at Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar with Prof. Jost Witter.
During that time, she was a member of the Gustav-Mahler-Youth-Orchestra, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under the baton of conductors like Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Christian Thielemann and many more.
In 2006, Christin graduated in performing music and went to Lucerne, Switzerland, to study with Prof. Sebastian Hamann.
From 2007 to 2008, she was a postgraduate student at Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar with Prof. Matthias Wollong. Further, master classes with Thomas Brandis, Norbert Brainin, Christian Altenburger and Adelina Oprean were influential for her both as an instrumentalist and a teacher.
From 2007 to 2009, she was a violinist at the Staatskapelle Weimar.
She frequently performs in orchestras like Staatskapelle Weimar and Robert-Schumann-Philharmonie Chemnitz.
Since 2007, Christin has been teaching violin at the Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar. In addition, she taught at the Hochschule für Musik CARL MARIA VON WEBER Dresden from 2014 to 2016.
Christin is regularly giving master classes, for example, at Mahidol University School of Music Bangkok, at the Instrumentalkurs Musikakademie Sondershausen, at the Rotary-Course and the Erasmus master class in Weimar.
