Her sensitivity, enriched by life experiences and stage performances, imbues her playing with a depth and maturity that touches the soul of her audience. Her deeply personal artistic approach reflects that of a secretive and singular musician within the musical universe.

For Véronique, musical interpretation represents a complex alchemy where, in order to achieve a moment of quality exchange with the audience, the respect for the score intertwines with her expressiveness as a musician. In this shared space, emotions can flow freely and leave a lasting imprint in the minds and hearts of listeners. Each note then becomes a bridge between her and her audience, in a mutually enriching communion where the artist and the public are united by the power of music.

Véronique Bonnecaze studied with Ventsislav Yankoff at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where she won a First Prize in Piano and Chamber Music. She also studied with Oxanna Yablonskaya at the Juilliard School in New York, and with Vladimir Nielsen, Nadia Tagrine and Germaine Mounier.

A laureate and finalist of international competitions such as Geneva, Mavi Marcoz, Chopin Palma de Mallorca, Jaen, and Pescara, she has performed in recital and with orchestras in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall in New York, Salle Gaveau, Salle Cortot, Théâtre de l’Athénée in Paris, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Victoria Hall in Geneva, as well as in Germany, the United States, Japan, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Sweden, Greece, and Lebanon.

Her recording of Chopin’s twenty-four Studies, praised by Harold Schonberg of the New York
Times, was included in a selective discography of the best recordings of the Studies from the
past 90 years by GRAMOPHONE magazine.

Her albums are regularly awarded by the music press: 5 Diapasons for the complete Chopin
Sonatas in 2021 (Paraty label), Opus d’Or and 5* Classica for the Debussy album (Paraty), “Maestro” from Pianiste magazine for the double album Schumann-Liszt (Polymnie label), a Maestro and 5 Diapasons for her “Live” album (Triton).

In parallel to her solo career, Véronique Bonnecaze has been a tenured piano professor at the École Normale de Musique in Paris since 2010. She also served as the artistic director of the Midi & Demi Concerts (2012 – 2015) at Salle Cortot.

She gives masterclasses in Japan, at the Musicalta Academy, as well as in Cagliari, PTNA, and Musique en Graves, and is a member of juries for international competitions in France, Italy, and Japan (Yokohama, Tokyo, PTNA).

Since 2021, Véronique Bonnecaze has held the presidency of EPTA France – European Piano Teachers Association, which was founded in 1978 by pianist and pedagogue Carola Grindea.

Currently, over 40 countries are part of the network of national associations within EPTA Europe, which today includes thousands of members, including teachers, students, and enthusiasts.
